MapCrawl Pro Documentation
Master the art of website architecture mapping and SEO optimization with MapCrawl Pro's no-code platform.
Overview
MapCrawl Pro is designed for SEO specialists, product managers, and developers who need to visualize website structures without writing a single line of code. Our platform automates the discovery of your web pages, provides real-time architectural insights, and allows you to track site changes over time.
Visual Excellence
Every scan creates a dynamic, interactive tree view of your site's hierarchy, making it easy to spot orphan pages and depth issues.
Run Your First Scan
Scanning a website with MapCrawl Pro is simple and takes only a few clicks.
1. Enter Target URL
On your dashboard, enter the base URL of the website you want to map (e.g., https://example.com). Our system will automatically normalize the URL to ensure the most accurate crawl.
2. Configure Depth & Limits
Use the sliders in the left sidebar to set your crawl parameters:
- Max Depth: Controls how many levels deep the crawler will follow links (e.g., a depth of 3 will follow
/blogand/blog/post-title). - Page Limit: Set the maximum number of pages to discover. Pro members enjoy higher limits for large-scale enterprise sites.
3. Start Generator
Click the "Start Generator" button. You'll see real-time progress as discovered links appear in the visualizer and table view.
Project Management
Stay organized by saving your scans into dedicated projects. This allows you to maintain a historical archive of your website's architecture.
Creating Projects
Once a scan is complete, click "Save as Project". You can name your project and associate it with a specific domain. Projects are synced to the cloud and accessible from any device.
Scans Archive
Visit the Projects Library to view all your saved snapshots. Each project stores up to 10 historical scans, allowing you to see how your sitemap has evolved over time.
Advanced Scanning Features
MapCrawl Pro handles modern web technologies with ease, including JavaScript-heavy SPAs and large-scale media assets.
Headless Pro Rendering
Our "Headless" mode automatically renders JavaScript on sites built with React, Next.js, or Vue, ensuring every dynamic link is discovered.
Block Images Mode
Enable "Block Images" in your scan configuration to speed up discovery. This tells our engine to ignore media assets and focus exclusively on architectural links and metadata.
Site Visualizer & Data
Every page discovered is more than just a URL. We capture critical SEO data for each node.
- Tree View: An interactive, collapsible visualization of your URI segments.
- Live Previews: Click the "Camera" icon on any discovered link to capture a high-resolution screenshot of the page's current state.
- Meta Status: Track HTTP status codes and last-modified headers in real-time.
Exporting Sitemaps
Once your mapping is complete, you can generate a search-engine-ready sitemap with one click.
Click the "Save Sitemap" button in the navigation bar to download a valid sitemap.xml file. This file includes prioritized URLs and modification dates, ready to be uploaded to Google Search Console or Bing Webmaster Tools.
